Confirm what is meant to move
Start with the current product listing or supplied instructions. A seam, panel or inset detail is not automatically a moving part. If the seller describes a magnetic lid, detachable scanner, removable attachment or magnetic holster, operate only that feature in the stated direction.

Stop using the moving feature if you notice a magnet sitting proud, a gap that was not there before, a crack around the recess, or a removable part that no longer aligns. Do not press a loose magnet back with a sharp tool or add adhesive without guidance from the maker; the correct repair depends on how the part was designed.
A slight printed texture is not the same as damage. Look for a change from the part's normal condition rather than judging the piece only by visible layer lines.
