About Printverse3D

Printverse3D is a one-person 3D printing studio in Sydney, Australia. Every model in the shop was printed, assembled and finished by the same person who listed it.

What hand-finished actually means

Nothing here comes off a shelf. Orders are printed when they are placed, and a large hull can occupy a printer for a day or more. After that it needs the supports taken off, a pass of sanding where they touched the surface, and assembly, because most models come off the print plate in several pieces. That work is the reason there is a processing window before anything ships, and it is the difference between a raw print and something you would put on a shelf.

Colour is printed in, not painted on

The studio runs multi-colour PLA. Panel colours, markings and registry numbers are part of the plastic rather than a coat on top of it, so they cannot chip, scratch off or fade unevenly. Layer heights run between 0.12mm and 0.2mm depending on the model: finer on props and small detail work, coarser on large hulls where the extra print time buys nothing the eye can see. There are no resin models in the catalogue.

Where the designs come from

Some models are original. Most are printed under a commercial licence from the designer who created them, which is what makes it legal to sell physical copies. Where a design came from a named creator on Printables or MakerWorld, the credit and a link to their page stay in the product description. That is a condition of the licence, and it is also simply correct.

Two places to buy

Printverse3D started on Etsy and the Etsy shop is still running. This site carries the same catalogue, sold direct. If you have bought from the Etsy shop before, it is the same studio, the same printers and the same person packing the box.

Ask for what is not here

If you want a size that is not listed, a different colourway, or something printed that is not in the catalogue at all, get in touch. A good share of what is in the shop today exists because somebody asked for it first.
